HTC has announced its new flagship Android handset, the Desire HD, a high end number that looks set to provide a very tempting big-screen alternative to the iPhone.
The new Android 2.2-powered handset comes in a natty aluminium finish and features a hefty 4.3″ WVGA capacitive screen, and an upgraded 8MP camera with dual LED flash offering face tracking, plus the ability to record in 720 HD video.
HTC Sense
There’s the latest version of HTC Sense onboard, with a slicker user interface serving up a feast of new features and tweaks, while HTC’s Smart Boot promises to make your handset power up swiftly.
Dolby onboard
Powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, the handset beefs up its multimedia credentials with Dolby Mobile and SRS and enhanced photo features,while internal storage has been increased to 4GB, with a microSD card slot for expansion too.
We haven’t heard the lowdown on a UK price yet, but the phone is set for an October release.
