Samsung has unleashed a beast of a multimedia laptop in the shape of the 550P, which comes with 15-inch or 17-inch displays.
The latest addition to the popular Series 5 range, the machines are powered by Intel’s hottest third-gen quad-core Ivy Bridge Core i7 processor.
Samsung says that the all-new CPU will make 3D gaming twice as fast as the previous generation CPU, with gamers able to get in some serious fragging thanks to the built-in Nvidia GeForce GT 650M 2GB graphics card.
The bigger 17 inch model also packs a built-in Blu-ray drive and JBL optimised subwoofer speakers and weighs in at 3.05kg, while the 15 inch number weighs in at a lighter 2.5kg.
Both machines run on the tried and trusted Windows 7 Home Premium operating system and should be available later this month – but there’s been ne’er a peep on pricing as yet.
