Our sister site, urban75, has run an interesting piece documenting the decline of what was once London’s most famous street for electronics, Tottenham Court Road.
Once lined with electronic shops – mainly independent – Tottenham Court Road used to be the only place to go if you were looking to buy hi-fi, computer gear or other consumer electronics, but in recent years has lost custom because of the growth of Internet shopping.
Now only a relative handful of electronics stores remain, and we suspect that many of them won’t be around in a year’s time.
