They may not be one of the biggest names in the mobile world, but we’re very much liking the look of these colourful new handsets from Alcatel.
Resplendent in brightly coloured finishes with ultra narrow bezelled edges, the 7.1mm thin Alcatel One Touch Idol X packs a 1080p-supporting 5-inch display and a quad-core 1.2GHz processor.
There’s also 16GB of storage onboard, plus micro SD card expansion, while the camera is a beefy 13-megapixel number (apparently this will be 8MP in some countries).
We’ve yet to see the specs for the front facing camera, and there’s been no news on whether the handset is LTE -enabled.
Running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the Touch Idol comes with a relatively modest 2000 mAh battery and comes in snappy blue, yellow and red finishes.
There’s no word on the pricing or the availability of the Alcatel One Touch Idol X but if the price is as attractive as its looks, this phone may do well for Alcatel. Shame about the name, though.

Alcatel phones are usually pretty cheap, so it’ll be interesting to see what this one retails at….
