Boasting a list of no less than 362 meet ups around the world, tech site Gizmodo are keen to show just how big a force they are around the world, inviting their readers to a massive global party.
It’s Giz-party time!
Gizmodo has put on a colossal list of events taking place around the world, as their site explains, “today, over 1,500 Gizmodo readers will be meeting up to share the love.”
We’re not sure what kind of love it is they’ll be sharing, but there’s an interactive page displaying the numbers of gadg-loving folks attending, with readers able to RSVP if they’re coming along too.
When the parties are in full swing, they want to see all the crazy stuff that’s going down, imploring attendees to send in, “photos, video, anything you’ve got to show us how much fun you’re having.”
Limited fun
Sadly, it seems that for quite a lot of people the only love to be felt will have to be of the self-adoring kind, and any photos will have to be taken on self timer.
The current tally of numbers show that many of the listed venues have failed to register more than a handful of attendees, with the majority of meet ups likely to involve sad souls sat on their own in a bar somewhere, with just their shiny gadgets for company.
London and New York rock
However, the London event seems to have gained a fair bit of traction, with no less than 76 people pledging to turn up at the Alphabet bar tonight, while the New York event is, unsurprisingly, the most popular of the lot, with a veritable herd of 219 folks stampeding down to Madison Avenue at 7PM tonight.
Have a good night if you’re going – there’s a chance we might pop into the Alphabet Bar tonight – and tell us if you’re going to a Gizmodo event in your area.
