It’s long been one of the first things we install on any new PC, and the good news for Mac OS X users is that the awesome utility program CCleaner is coming to their platform.
It’s only at the beta stage right now, so it’s not packing as many features as the full Windows release yet, but it’s already looking to be a worthwhile download, offering the the ability to clean Safari and Firefox caches, histories, and cookies with one click.
The free download can also clear out the trash, temp folder, recent documents, and recent applications listings , helping Mac users keep their machines lean and mean.
Piriform, the people behind CCleaner’s makers, say that they plan to move out of beta and up to a full release within a couple of months, but for now you can download the beta here.
Excellent news! I use this on my Windows laptop and while my MacBook Pro doesn’t appear to pick up quite the same level of debris I’ve long missed this brilliant application…
Have checked this out, first impressions are it’s a bit feature lite but as it’s beta that’s ok, it boots up blazingly fast! It loads in under 2 seconds on my 2010 MacBook Pro, very impressive, hope they keep that in the full version.
Sadly not for OSX 10.4 users.
What are those?
