Asus has announced details of its latest Android tablet, the cut-price Transformer Pad TF300T, which is set to jog into the UK “from early May.”
Initially available at the Currys/PC World chain, the 32GB tablet plus accompanying keyboard will retail for a very competitive £399 – that’s a £100 cheaper than the Transformer Prime.
The more affordable version packs the same super-fast, quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor but dispenses with premium features like the snazzy aluminium back and Super IPS+ display.
The Transformer Pad TF300T struts a textured plastic back with a 1280-by-800-pixel resolution display, plus micro USB port and microSD card slot and standard-size 3.5mm headphone jack.
There’s an 8-megapixel rear-facing f2.2 camera (with no LED flash) and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera.
The TF300T will be available in three patriotic colours, with the Royal Blue available at launch, followed by Iceberg White at the end of June and Torch Red in July.
The Asus Transformer Pad 300T will be priced at £399 with keyboard dock configuration.
