We’ve always enjoyed Google’s penchant for posting up topical Google logo designs, but today’s Google.com affair is a bit different to most.
The doodle takes the form of a collection of coloured balls making up the word ‘Google’ that ‘explode’ outwards when you move your pointer around, and then settle back to form the the Google logo when you stop using your mouse.
What’s it all about, Alfie?
The logo designs are usually rolled out to commemorate important anniversaries, but we’re not sure how this one fits in with any event that happened on 7tj September.
Mind you, an awful lot of things have happened on September 7th over the years, including the death of Claudius Silvanus, Roman usurper (355), the birth of Buddy Holly in 1936, the first TV airing of Monty Python’s Flying Circus’s first episode (1969) or – and we think we might be getting closer here – the founding of Google in 1998.
The HTML5-tastic animation has led some to suggest there could be a big announcement in the wings – but maybe the blobs are in fact just pretty Birthday balloons?
Check out the logo for yourselves at Google.com and tell us what you think!
