As U-turns go, they don’t get much bigger than this one.
Yesterday, HTC UK posted up to say – rather emphatically – that the HTC Desire was not going to get the Android Gingerbread 2.3 update. Now way, no sir. And to hammer home the point, we made what we thought was an amusing graphic illustrating the situation.
Doh!
But now those will o’the wisp cats at HTC have changed their minds, announcing this on their Facebook page:
Contrary to what we said earlier, we are going to bring Gingerbread to HTC Desire.
While it’s great to see a company listening to their customers and undoing an unpopular decision so promptly, we can’t help feeling that it’s a bit of a shoddy way to go about things.
Still, I’m sure the HTC Desire users aren’t complaining. And neither are we. Nice one HTC!
