Now here’s a handy website for folks starting out in photography.
The DSLR Camera Simulator lets you play around with the settings of a virtual camera, and then ‘snap’ a picture and see how those settings have affected the image.
The Flash-powered interface has a full set of sliders to control lighting, distance, focal length, mode, ISO, aperture and shutter speed, so you can really experiment with camera settings without having to get your camera out. Neat.
You can get tweaking those virtual settings here: DSLR Camera Simulator or if you’re new to cameras, there’s a handy companion site which explains how a DSLR works: The SLR camera explained.
