Microsoft has released a video showing off some of the highlights of their upcoming Windows 8.1 operating system.
The four minute movie reveals some of the tweaks and improvements that users can expect, with new features including a lock screen that play slideshows or personal photos.
There’s new tile sizes added to the Start Screen (very large and very small), and it’s possible to access the All Apps screen by swiping up from the Start Screen.
The Start Screen can now be rearranged by moving multiple apps at once, and search now integrates PC and web results in an ‘app-like experience,’ which serves up apps, files, media, and web search results in one screen.
There’s better support for multi-tasking too, with the ability to resize full-screen apps that are running side-by-side, and use up to 4 apps on the screen at once.
The update is scheduled for release on June 26th, 2013. Read more on the Microsoft blog.
