The new cut-price Kindle is now awaiting your order on Amazon’s UK website, coming in a smaller, lighter package for just £89.
The new compact design is 30% lighter at just 170 grams and 18% smaller than the massively-selling Kindle 3, with the e-reader sporting a faster 6-inch E Ink display.
The all-new Kindle is available for pre-order now to customers in the U.K. and will be released on October 12th, with the caveat: “Usually dispatched within 3 to 5 days”.
We expect it’s going to be a Christmas smash, although we’d love it if Amazon would send the Kindle Fire our way too.

I’ still Kindling on my iPhone…can’t justify a dedicated device and am glad not to have to carry something else around…
Also Stanza is a great reader app…and everybody should load up with free books at the Gutenberg project…
