Now here’s one bit of tablet news we can get excited about, as Notion Ink’s intriguing Adam Tablet gets its own website, offering more information about this enigmatic iPad rival.
The 14mm x 191mm x 269mm tablet sports a rugged, hi-tech chic and a 10.1″ 1024×600 (or an optional Pixel Qi) touch screen display, and comes with a decent spec list.
Powering the tablet is a NVIDIA Tegra 250, dual-core Cortex A9 CPU backed by 1GB of RAM, plus a 3.2 MP swivel-camera and 8GB of internal flash memory.
There’s also a digital compass, micro SD slot, accelerometer, ambient light sensor and GPS and something that was found lurking in the HTML code for the page:
For any sneaky fellows looking through the code, heres a tidbit for you, theres a very awesome hidden sensor we’re gonna be revealing soon.
Tempting price
According to Slashgear report in August, the Notion Ink Adam tablet will be available for a tantalisingly low $399 for a Wi-Fi only version, and $498 for a Wi-Fi, 3G and GPS-enabled version.
Boasting a scratch-resistant surface, three USB ports, HDMI-out and HD 1080p video support, the Notion Ink Adam Android tablet will possibly run the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS when it launches, although there’s still no date fixed yet.
