Twitter have hooked up with the Android team to create their long-overdue, all-official Twitter for Android app.
Now available in the Android Market, the app looks a slick enough offering, with a clean UI and all the usual features for compulsive Tweetery types.
Included in the app is full support for those all important widgets and the ability to view users’ tweets from the Quick Contact bar.
Images and videos can be uploaded straight from the gallery, but it’s not all cookies’n’cream, with no support for multiple Twitter accounts yet (boo!) and unless you’re running Android 2.1 and above, you’re out of luck.
Here’s what else Twitter have to say about their new app:
Reading tweets is easy in a bunch of places on your phone. Quickly access your timeline with the home screen widget, view a tweet location on a map, and see your friend’s latest tweet in your phonebook, GoogleTalk list or any application that uses Android’s QuickContact bar.
The Twitter for Android app can be found in the Android Market – and it’s all yours for nowt.
