Samsung have announced a new addition to their hugely popular Galaxy range in the shape of the affordable Samsung Galaxy Pocket.
Smaller and cheaper than some of the big-screen beefcakes at the top of the Galaxy range, the Pocket comes with a mere 2.8-inch 320 x 240 pixel screen, backed by a leisurely 832MHz processor.
Around the back, there’s a modest 2-megapixel fixed focus camera, while connectivity options include 3.6Mbps HSDPA , Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi.
Measuring up at a diminutive 103.7 x 57.5 x 12mm and weighing just 97g, the Galaxy Pocket runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, liberally dashed with Samsung’s TouchWiz skin over the top.
Onboard memory adds up to just 3GB, but at least there’s a microSD card slot, offering up to 32GB additional memory.
Although the battery is a mere slither of a thing at 1200mAh cell, it should still keep the thing powered for a decent amount of time, considering the low specs.

Samsung have yet to announce just how much this little fella is going to cost, but there’s no doubting it’ll be at the cheapo end of the market.
There’s no set date for a UK release yet either, but we’ll take a stab and say it’ll be here in the next couple of months.
