Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 WiFi 16GB tablet priced up for US, out this week

Samsung has slapped a price tag on its 8.9″ Samsung Galaxy Tab Android-powered tablet, which is set to be made available later this week in the US.

The 8.9-inch WiFi-only 16GB model has been priced at up at a rather snappy $469, with the 32GB nudging the pricetag into iPad territory at $569.

For your dollar, you’ll get an Android 3.1 Honeycomb slimline slate (.34″) sporting Samsung’s TouchWiz interface,  all to be admired on the 8.9” WXGA (1280×800) TFT screen.

Twin cameras

There’s a 3 megapixel camera on the rear and 2MP up front for vid chats, while inside beats the heart of a dual-core 1GHz processor. All in all, not a bad looking tablet.

Sadly, there’s still no news on a UK release or pricing yet so us Brits will have to make do with a piece of wood with ‘Samsung’ written on it for now.
