Samsung has announced the third iteration of its popular Galaxy Tab 7-inch tablet, unsurprisingly named the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3.
Running Android 4.1, there’s no big leaps over its predecessor, with the affordable tablet running a dual core 1.2GHz chip and coming with either 8GB or 16GB of storage, expandable to up to 64GB thanks to its microSD slot.
Tablets look utterly daft for taking pictures, and Samsung don’t seem particularly enthusiastic about the idea too, with the Tab 3 containing a modest 3-megapixel rear camera and 1.3-megapixel front camera
The tablet certainly looks attractive enough, but its hopes of forming a formidable rival to the likes of the iPad Mini and the Nexus 7 are somewhat diminished by its rather disappointing 1,024 x 600/ 169ppi resolution.
The wi-fi version of the Galaxy Tab 3 will be spinning into shops worldwide from May, with the 3G version following the month after. Pricing is to be announced, but we expect it to undercut the Nexus 7 slightly.
The package measures up at 111.1 x 188.0 x 9.9mm and weighs 302g(Wi-Fi) and 306g (3G)
