It’s been universally acknowledged as being the one of the best – if not the best – smartphones currently available in the known universe, and it looks like Americans will finally be able to get a slice of the super-slim Samsung Galaxy S2 next month.
We certainly think it’s the best phone on the market right now, and with Apple taking their time over their follow up to the iPhone 4, Samsung are currently doing very good business indeed worldwide.
Although the Galaxy is a recognised model name over here in the UK, the original model went under a slew of different names in the US, with the top four U.S. carriers all electing to give it a different moniker. Those crazy Americans!
T-Mobile renamed the S1 as the Samsung Vibrant when it was released last year, while AT&T called it the Samsung Captivate. Sprint and Verizon decided to join in the fun too, renaming the handset as the Samsung Epic 4G and Samsung Fascinate respectively.
We’ve no idea if the networks intend to mess about with the name for the follow-up, but whatever name they bestow on the smartphone, the specs should remain equally stunning:
