Blimey. This one is a whopper. The SLR Magic 12-36×50 ED Spotting Scope for Digiscoping bolts on to a Micro Four Thirds camera to provide an almighty zoom range of 840 to 2520mm.
Billed as the perfect solution for amateur digiscopers who want to take photos or video of wildlife, the optic mounts directly on the camera body, allowing users to shoot distant images, which apparently is what ‘digiscoping’ is.
The 12-36×50 ED lens provides an equivalent optical zoom range of 840-2,520mm, with extra-low dispersion optics and multi-coated glass elements promising high quality images.
The lens is billed to land in June 2013 with a suggested retail price of $799, but there’s no news about European price and availability yet.
