Sony has shoulder-barged its way into the Ultrabook party with the launch of its slim and snazzy Vaio T13 laptop.
The first Ultrabook branded laptop from Sony, the Vaio T13 comes with a 13-inch (1366×768) LED screen, Intel Core i3-2367M Ultra Low Voltage processor (no Ivy Bridge, sadly) and a promised battery life of 9 hours between charges.
Set to go on sale in Blighty in June, Sony’s thin and lightweight number will be competing with attractive ultrabook offerings like the HP Envy 14 Spectre, Dell’s XPS 13 and the rather drool-worthy Asus UX31 Zenbook.
According to Sony, their new bijou machine will come with 4GB of DDR3 memory as standard, a 320GB hard drive, with a second, non-storage 32GB SSD used for speeding up the system.
Connectivity options also include HDMI, VGA and RJ45 network ports, plus an SD/MMC media slot and an 1.3 megapixel “Exmor for PC” HD web camera with xLOUDTM and Clear Phase audio technologies onboard.
The Vaio T13 will measure 226 x 17.8 x 323 mm, weigh 1.6Kg with prices starting from £679, which sounds almost cheap for a swishy Sony product.
