Just popping up on HTC’s website are the full details of the new T-Mobile G2, the successor to the trail-blazing G1, the first ever Android handset in the known universe.
Bombproof
Running the shiny new Android Froyo 2.2 (can you hurry up and sort our upgrade please, Orange UK?), the G2 has a fairly well rounded set of specs, with 4GB of ROM, 512B of RAM, aGPS, WiFi, Bluetooth and a 1300mAh battery.
The G2 sports a “bombproof slide-out QWERTY keyboard,” and comes with a 3.7-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen, HD (720p) video recording and a five megapixel camera, with auto focus and flash.
The only real disappointment is in the CPU department, with the G2 toting a slightly under-par 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7230 processor.
We’ve no idea abut a UK release date yet, but it’s been reported that RadioShack will be selling the G2 in the States for a very competitive $149.99 with 2-yr agreement (instant rebate).
