Unlike Microsoft’s much-desired Courier project, Toshiba’s twin screen concept laptop has actually made the jump into the real world, with the innovative Libretto W100 twin screen device now available for order in the US.
The limited edition ‘ultra mobile companion’ comes in at a pricey $1,099.99 and offers dual 7-inch WSVGA LCD multi-touch screens that work horizontally or vertically.

Powered by a Pentium U5400 processor and running Windows 7 Home Premium (32-bit), the double screen wonder comes with integrated Intel HD graphics, 2GB of DDR3 memory, a 62GB solid state drive, an inbuilt webcam and an 8-cell battery.
Connectivity options take the shape of 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR plus a built in memory card reader, and there’s a virtual onscreen keyboard for your tippity-tap needs.
Toshiba have released a video to show off its abilities (below), and if you’re thinking there’s a space in your life for this little fella, availability has been pegged at “two to three weeks.”
If we had a thousand dollars to burn we’d probably give this a spin, but at the risk of repeating ourselves again, it was the Courier that really got us excited…
