Trance bands are always banging on about ‘taking you higher’, but a UK outfit are looking to go higher than any other fluoro-donning, repetitive-beat churning DJs have ever been before, asking Richard Branson if they can supply the background music for Virgin Galactic’s first passenger trip.
The trance group Above & Beyond have begged Richard Branson to let them onboard to DJ on the craft’s first suborbital trip into space.
Above & Beyond’s Jono Grant told the NME: “We’re big fans of all things space-related and so in terms of dream gigs, this is up there alongside our performance in Rio to one million people.”
“We’re now hoping to persuade Richard [Branson] to let us DJ on the first passenger flight into space,” he added, as he waved his white gloved hands in the air and played with a flouro stick. Probably.
Personally, if we’d paid tens of thousands of pounds to be on a space flight and some trance DJs started up their ‘euphoric’ nonsense we’d be reaching for the ejector seat immediately – and it wouldn’t be us leaving the vehicle.

Of far more interest to us is some photos of the fabulous space ship from Virgin’s press release. It sure looks a beaut – anyone want to lend us $200k for the trip?
