Space strapped consumers may find themselves being drawn to Viewsonic’s updated VOT132 nettop, due to be released in the States on Thursday,
The NVIDIA ION-powered mini PC is designed to serve as an entertainment hub or for home office computing, with its bijou dimensions meaning it can be strapped out of sight behind a monitor.
Featuring a dual core Intel Atom 330 processor, the VOT132 packs 2GB of RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 9400 graphics and a 160GB hard drive, and purrs along on Windows 7 Home Premium.
Man-sized
It may be a tiddler, but it’s got man-sized connectivity options, offering 802.11b/g/n WiFi, 6 USB ports, DVI and HDMI outputs, SPDIF/mic input, SPDIF output, Ethernet and headphone jacks.
The basic model is priced at $499, with an extra $99 buying you a modular Super Multi DVD burner that attaches to the nettop.
We’ve no idea when (or if) these wee PCs will be making it to the UK, but we have to say we’re rather struck by them: one of these puppies would do us a treat in the living room.
