Android users feeling a little smug that one of the best mobile games around was only available on their platform may be a little disheartened to learn that the multiplayer word game Wordfeud is now available for iPhones too.
Although clearly (ahem) ‘inspired’ by Scrabble, Wordfeud improves vastly on the hideously bloated and pointlessly animated official Scrabble app, offering a clean, simple interface, push notifications and more.
The game is all about slamming down words on a 15 by 15 tile board, hopefully covering up as many Double Letter, Double Word, Triple Letter and Triple Word tiles on the way.
A long time favourite in Chez Wirefresh, Wordfeud lets you take on your pals or play against random opponents, and taunt them mercilessly via a text chat channel as you lay down game-crushing high scores.
You can play in up to 30 games simultaneously and if you really want to twist your melon man, you can opt for randomised boards which shove the double and triple square all over t’shop.
Wordfeud for iOS in available in the App Store for free, with an in-app ad-free version available for $2.99
